Congratulations to Roger Federer for your 74th title in 104 finals, tying the record for 20 Masters shields, regaining the world #2 position, & becoming the only player in history to win the Madrid Mutua Masters Title 3 times. While others have fallen by the wayside unable to cope with different conditions, you have proven once again why you are simply. the. best.

Champions adjust

Bernard TOMIC and Milos RAONIC preparing for the Rome Masters

Future of tennis. And fitting too that they are the future because in recent times we are seeing that big guys that move around the baseline well are dominating. Wouldn’t be surprised if these two are the future Federer/Nadal, Sampras/Agassi.. don’t want to put the mocker on them though.
Interesting that they are both non-European in nationality (Australian and Canadian…interesting because only Europeans dominate men’s tennis nowadays) and both have Balkan background.

I must say I’m surprised how well she’s done on this blue slippery clay.. she’s not the most nimble of movers.. she’s very fast and explosive.. but not as nimble as others around the tour.

When you’re talking to Roger, he makes you feel important—whether you’re a fan, an opposing player or an old geezer like me.

The blue clay is such bs… it also made it really difficult for me to explain to my dad that despite the fact that the surface is blue it is still clay lmao. We literally call clay courts in Chinese ‘red dirt’ so I had to explain that it is the same as ‘red dirt’ but just blue… which sounds contradictory haha.

But yeah it just looks shit as well for some reason.. blue courts look fab for hard courts like US Open and Aus Open but please stick to red for clay.
